Luncheon Meetings

The New Virginians Club Luncheons

Club Members gather most months for a Luncheon Meeting followed by a program designed to further enrich our lives. These events are enlivened by raffles to benefit our philanthropic mission. Program topics have included adult literacy, heart health, Virginia history, local theater, live performances and other subjects of interest to women. In April, we host a Fashion Show and in December a holiday auction. Luncheons are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month. We meet in area country clubs and restaurants.

Below are some of our recent lunch venues and programs.

Any nonmember wishing to attend should contact our Membership VP, at membership@newvaclub.org for a guest reservation.

Holiday Auction Luncheon - December 4, 2024  Hermitage Country Club

Auction bids  for many items are made using tickets or via our silent auctions.  Our special interest groups prepare baskets to be auctioned.  Smaller denomination bills are appreciated for the raffles and grab bags! Loose change goes into the Piggy Banks on each table.

The auction is always a fun and well attended luncheon. We have holiday décor, good food, friendly chat and SHOPPING! Plan to attend and bid on your favorite items donated by your New Virginians friends. We ring in the holidays with JOY!

Proceeds from this year's event will go to For The Love of Poodles and Pooches Rescue (FLOP).

All About Tea -  November 13, 2024 The Federal Country Club

Did you know that tea was first served to the Emperor of China in 2700 BC?  Coffee wasn't served in what is now Yemen until 970 AD.  There are several different settings where tea is served including Elevenses, Cream Tea, Afternoon Tea, and High Tea.  Do you know what makes each one unique?

Kip Barefoot is a leading connoisseur of tea in Virginia and has owned tea rooms in the Richmond area over the past decade.  We discovered  what we needed to know about tea and enjoyed lunching with new and existing members of our club.

Celebration of our Golden Anniversary - September 11, 2024 The Place at Innsbrook

We celebrated 50 years of friendship and fun!

That's 600 months! 2,600 Weeks!  18,250 days!

Makes you want to stand up and dance, doesn't it?  So we invited a DJ to join us and help us commemorate our Golden Anniversary!

Glenn Johnson is a local DJ from Mechanicsville and he is amazing!  He started his musical life singing in Choral Groups in high school.  Influenced by his father's love of Country Music which he learned to appreciate later in life.  Glenn loves Southern Rock, Country, and Rock & Roll and he was ready to get us on the dance floor.
